Life
Richard graduated in 1991 from Suitland High School, Suitland, Maryland, in the Visual and Performing Arts program. Resolute to take up an acting career and shift to Los Angeles, he only applied in one university and besides achieving admission in the University of Southern California; he also scored a number of grants and scholarships to learn theater.
In his leisure time, Richards likes to indulge in painting and ever since working on Space, is fond of astronomy as well. For the play, he has been all around the United States of America and likes to go to Panama, which is his parent’s native land and also other parts of Central America. He resides in Los Angeles and is a supporter of the Make - A - Wish Foundation.
Career and Works
Through a casting directory, Richards got his first role, a guest appearance on the Cosby Show. This was followed by guest roles on series like, Any Day Now, Chicago Hope, The Practice and Nash Bridges.
Popularity began for him with Tina Landau’s play Space (a Mark Taper Forum, production), in which he played the character of Taj Mahal, a messenger who thinks he has been abducted by aliens.
He appeared on TV movies like Mutiny, The Temptations and Critical Assembly. IN movies he worked on Good Burger and Why Do Fools Fall in Love. He also made appearances on the shows, The West Wing and The 4400.
He also has done about three characters of a lawyer. In the show conviction, he enacted the role of New York City Assistant District Attorney, “Billy”. In Angel too he turns to be a lawyer at Wolfram & Hart in the last season and is now playing the role of attorney Marcus McGrath in the show, Raising the Bar.
Angel
On the supernatural drama TV show Angel, Richards plays the role of Charles Gunn, who is a street - wise demon hunter and is very uncomfortable working for Angel, a vampire, but slowly overcomes his reservations to emerge as an important player in the battle against the evil.
