Angel is a spin off of the hit American television series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Created by Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s creator) and David Greenwalt, the show was launched on 5th October, 1999. Whedon produced this show like the earlier one, with his production banner, Mutant Enemy.

The show revolves around the experiences of a vampire named Angel whose human soul has been given back to him by gypsies to avenge the murder of one of them. Angel tortured and murdered innocent people for centuries, but the human soul restored to him now torments him with guilt and regret of his actions.

Now he works as a private detective in Los Angeles, California (for the first four seasons), and he works for the upliftment of people who have lost their way and are helpless and are now deviated. This confronts him with evil humans and bad people most related with the law firm name Wolfram & Hart. Apart from all this he has to face his own demons and the trauma of his past.
The show was much darker then its parent show and it ended 19th May, 2004.
